How to choose and set up the caravan awning

With the opening of the campsite near, doubts may arise about  which awning is best for our caravan, as well as which is the best way to mount it.  Don’t worry campers! In the following post we explain everything you need to know about this useful complement.

Types of awnings
Originally created to have a fixed room, over the years, the awnings have evolved to adapt to the particular needs of each use. For this reason it is important to know how to differentiate each type and identify what we will use it for in order to choose the right one.

Fixed stay awning
This is perfect if the stay is long. This is the most common and most complex  awning  to assemble.  It contains thick tarpaulins, withsteelor carbon fibre tubes. Although it is difficult to assemble, it is ideal  for a long stay,  thanks to  its firmness and its large interior space.

To mount it easily, just follow the steps below:

  1. Locate the space where you will place the caravan and unfold the protective tarpaulin,  identifying each part of the structure of the trailer.
  2. Carefully pull the advance tarpaulin through the caravan  guide, ensuring that each side is at the same height.
  3. Place the frame brackets at the points where the upper roof tubes go.
  4. Assemble the structure from the central part of the roof up to the legs.
  5. Continue along one of the sides. First the tube linking the centre-side, then the leg and the roof side tube.
  6. Repeat the same thing on the other side of the feed and attach the visor tubes.
  7. Close the side and front panels with the zip.
  8. Tighten the tubes, first the central one of the roof, then the side ones. Place the central leg and then the side legs by joining the plastic over the second step of the rubber sewn to the canvas.
  9. Then tighten the front tubes at the sides and the visor tubes according to the instructions.
  10. To finish, nail the feed completely, giving the right tension.

Awnings for routes
The awnings for campers who are constantly on the move, they are quick and easy to set up. Most of them do not cover the whole width of the caravan, only the central part, to offer a  reduced space for comfort, but at the same time enjoy protection from bad  weather and wind.

Inflatable awning
With a wide variety of sizes and formats, inflatable awnings are gaining market share. Although  their structures are less resistant,  in case of breakage, simple repair kits are available.

Now all you have to do is choose an awning according to your preferences, place it, and enjoy  your holidays!
