Astronomical phenomena at the campsite

This summer, the sky will surprise us with some of its nocturnal shows that will flash the dark night sky. You will be able to enjoy them at our campsite from your plot, quietly sitting in the coolness of a summer night.

So that these stellar events don’t pass you by, here you have the astronomical calendar for this summer.

July

The Delta-Aquàrides are an appetizer of the Perseids, but no less spectacular for that! We expect to see up to 35 meteors per hour on the night of 28 July.

28th and 29th July

Delta-Aquariids meteor shower represents an appetizer of the Perseids. It is estimated that the peak of this phenomenon will be the night of the 28th and will show up to 25 meteor/hour (depending on weather conditions).

August

Tighten your seatbelt because this is an interstellar journey: the ringed planet will be seen together with its two moons; yes, you read that right, you will be able to see Saturn.

12th and 13th August

If the night sky is clear, you will be able to observe the Perseids, also known as the Tears of Saint Lawrence. A meteor shower of up to 100 meteors per hour at its peak.

19h August

Jupiter will be closer to Earth and it can be seen, the largest planet in the solar system on our nightsky-display.

22th August

To close up the month, the famous Blue Moon will be visible. Inspiration of tons of songs, I can’t think of a better way to close August.

September

For those of you who are making the most of the summer, the month of September has a couple of surprises in store.

20th september

During one of the last nights of summer, you will be able to watch the Corn Moon. It is not called that because it resembles a Bicentury pancake. It is called this name because the phenomenon coincided or coincides with the harvest season.

22th de september

On this date the sun will be in the afternoon and the equinox will be at 14:20 hours and you will be able to observe the Sun located at the flat part of the celestial equator. On this day, for an observer, the Sun will be at its zenith.
